The bye week for the Dallas Cowboys appears to have come at the perfect time of the season. The bye week allows the recent injuries to defensive players Anthony Henry (high ankle sprain) and Dat Nguyen (slow recovery from his spinal injury) adequate time to heal for the upcoming game November 14, 2005 against the rival Philadephia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Thankfully, this year, there is enough talent and depth on this young defense to make up for the possible loss of Henry and Nguyen. Rookie outside Linebacker Kevin Burnett will have ample oppourtunity to showcase his talents during the next few weeks. With 8 weeks remaining in the season, as well as the defense has been playing, there is still room for improvement and time for this unit to gel completely. We have not yet witnessed the potential dominating play for an eager defense hungry to showcase themselves, probably enough so to earn a new moniker like the "Doomsday Defense" from those great Cowboy Defenses of the 1970's.
